Change.....

Time for a change.... In writing this I see time has showed me alot of change.
We went to Kure Beach and saw change with growth. Saying goodbye to old landmarks and
memories of the past. Can change be accepted ? I say it depends on the situation. I am just getting older and not wanting CHANGE ? I ended the month of August with seeing the change of our friend's daughter going off to school for the 1st time. I was bombed with emotions of remebering when our daughter was the young and tried to prepare our friends for the change they will see with thier daughter as well. Of course some of the change is good for the most part in that situation. But long gone are the days of innocence once school is started. We did celebrate our Labor Day off with a nice ride to the Parkway. That day was great and not too hot and we even had a small drizzle while up there taking in all the Parkway had to offer. After riding some 250+ miles we headed home. Back to work and back to the norm it was. It was just one day but the change in scenery did us good. Then comes last weekend and the end to something I totally took for granted all these years(15) and I'm sure alot of other people will too once it hits them he won't be there anymore. One of our best friends decided to stop his bartending job after being there weekend after weekend and Holidays as well. It was a long over due decision true but a hard one to make none the less. He did question himself a few times. A change in his life and direction helped make this decision for him and hopefully it will prove to be the right one. Being selfish sure I didn't want him to leave the Club but how often was I ever there ?
The big night came and it was a packed house with several performers. We were running around busy trying to get everything in order for his performance and making sure our t's were crossed and i's dotted. I had made myself a promise not to cry or get emotional but what I felt was being proud. For many reasons of course. Getting the chance to have been this man's friend for over 15 years for one. Seeing him perform and enjoying it and watching how others receive and care for him as well. He will be missed and that staple of a bartender/performer/friend and smiling face will no longer greet us there. A change for the good you ask yourself ? Happily it will open a door now that we'll love freeing up those nights that were usually spent working.
Bonfire's watch out here we come !!!
So change has been a big part of my life so far this month and we aren't half way thru it. Can a leopard really CHANGE thier spots?

hello out there !

After killing sometime reading other friends blogs I decided to go ahead and
create myself one. I do blog on Myspace and yahoo360 some but not often.
Just highlights of my life here and there so maybe this one I can treat as more a Journal
and really scare folks out there who think they know me. I have a friend down in Buloxi
dealing poker at the World Tournament and he is blogging to keep us all updated on his
adventure. GO WADE !!! My other friends blog on anything and everything from thier lives and
jobs. So Travis and Eugene I hope I make you proud. Until next time....
